So whats up with that thing? I caught the tail end of the show where they said it was done. I didn`t see a road test - did they do one? I wondered about the wheelbase of it and the gooseneck trailer they built, it looked to me like they were going to have some front end issues while towing.

I don't know either. I missed the final show if there was one.

They did a road test of it, then purposely rolled a jeep over to see if the suburban gorilla could rescue it, which it did

I got to see it today (Sunday) and I was impressed that the GM diesel has glow plugs. I didn't think anyone still used those.

I was wondering....did they ever give an estimate on the total spent on that beast?

NO, but it will run well over $60k. Hell, the 'massaged by Gale Banks with twin turbos' duramax ALONE would run over $30k. And that doesn't include the trailer.

A 'normal' Urban Gorilla hummer runs over $30k, once finished.

When I heard the horsepower that was in that GM engine, my jaw almost dropped. I only run a 500 Cummins when pulling 80k. I used to run a 470 Detroit pulling 160k into Michigan.

Hey Harold,

Did you see it in Canfield...what did you think of the show. I didn;t get to walk around much and see all the trucks and vendors but it did look like a pretty good turnout.

Yes the truck was given a road test....for an entire episode, and it was a pretty killer package when it was on the highway, and the Gorilla worked great on its own as well.

Hi Ian,

Nice to see you here. I end up missing about half the shows with my six day work week. I'd love to see a repeat of those shows if they are slated to be shown.

That full rig, truck and trailer will run WELL OVER $100k if you or I just went out and paid someone to build it for us.

Here's the link from Gale Banks for a 6.6L 04-06 engine. They do others as well. I'd guess this twin-turbo engine setup to be in the $60k range. That WOULD get you a minimum of 640 hp and 1100 lb-ft of torque. http://bankspower.com/twin-turbo-engine.cfm

The tranny/transfer case combo, again if you or I purchased it, would run AT LEAST $10k.

The Suburban Gorilla body to a full running vehicle is AT LEAST $30k, perhaps more. Most SG's that I've seen are nice. X4x4's is one of the best looking SG's out there. So I'd lean toward the 'more' side of $30k.

Then there's the trailer. Again, if you or I were to just go out and purchase something like that, I'm pretty sure WE would spend another $30k+. Then there is the genny and all the 'gee-gaws' they put in the popup, so that's money spent as well.

So yeah, call it $100k PLUS.
