I am just looking for some input. My truck has a Turbo 400 in it that leaks like a drunken Irishman. I have a guy looking at it from the tranny shop in the spring. He does have two transmissions a 400 and a 700r4. If I get the 400 in the future I would be getting the Advance Adapters overdrive units. Would it be worth it to just get the 700 and be done with the 400. The truck has a Chevy 350 that is putting out about 310 - 330 hp and I do not see going much higher.

Ya I do a lot of towing mostly. I just had some questions about the durability of the 700. My tranny guy had the transmission in storage and his Co-op student pushed it off the shelf sending it to the ground cracking the case. So the 700 is out. I have been happy with the 400 it is just with 456 rear gears highway is loud with dual exhaust. I toasted a couple of 350's in my old Impala so the 400 has been great for what I need.

Yeah the since the 700 is gone I am debating going big block in the truck in the future. I have to maybe wait until the Chevelle is done though. Thanks for the input Raynutt and Hiboy.
