Hey, guys- I'm looking for some input here... We're looking for another project to build this coming season. So far we're going to finish Redsled, the Year One Trans-Am, and hopefully the A/FX Comet. We're also starting the 'Cuda for UFC's Dana White, possibly finishing it this year. We need one other project. Any ideas on something cool and different? Build style? Budget? I'm open to ideas!

Oh, and just so you guys know- The Challenger is currently at Year One having some work done on it. It'll also be back to get finished this coming season. We've had too many cars in here lately for wiring and plumbing, and didn't want to bore you guys so we sent it out.

Alright, how 'bout a twin-turbo v-6 Regal built GNX style but starting with a standard Regal so we don't have to cut up a real GN? We can shoot for 11 or 12 second quarter-mile times and still get over 20 mpg? Maybe even take it to Bonneville and try for the 125-mph club? Another idea kicking around is a 1971 AMC Javelin with a stroked 401 and a 4-speed? Gas mileage would be out the window but I've always been a closet AMC fan!

Yes, they both sound like good builds!!! I was thinking about a project, and how about some cars that "dont make the shows"!!! Like, cars that, for some odd reason, arent getting the attention they deserve on TV!!! AMC is a good car, maybe Javelin like you said, a Javelin would be awesome!!! A Plymouth Duster would work, not many people build those on shows!!! Or, a Dodge Dart with a huge big-block sitting in it would be sweet, too!!! A Ford Falcon would be a very good car to do a build on!!! I would really like to see a Duster build sometime because they arent that expensive right now in the mopar world(they are going up, though)!! Yes, Im a little biased towards a Duster build-up, but thats because I have one!!! It would make for an interesting drag-car build, though!!!

How original of a theme do you want to do? Personally, I like the idea that ford motor sports came up with by putting a 302 into a focus. I'd love to see a Cavalier with a LS1 and T-56. Those are the new materials for muscle cars. Big power in small cars.
To make it a full sleeper: full body kit, big rims, stereo, neons, and stickers.
I'm stocking up parts to do this conversion myself, but would really like to get professional ideas on things like building the rear suspension, and custom front k-member.
Just my opinion.

Hmmm... The Focus thing could be kool... I believe Ford Motorsport makes a complete kit for a rear-wheel drive conversion, don't they? I remember seeing something about that somewhere... But do you think it would fit the "MuscleCar" theme?

Be careful with the 301, they're not known for being very strong. The turbo Trans-Ams were pretty kool back in the day, but try to find one nowadays that still has the 301 and you'd be hard pressed. Most have given way to 350's and 400's. I pitched the idea for building some 70's cars, but the problem lies with parts. A lot of the cars that I dig on don't have parts being repopped. If we could find a low-mileage survivor car like the sleeper Nova then it would be do-able.

yeah, but the focus thing has already been done. Dream car garage or Sportscar Revolution or some other canadian show took a junkyard focus and did the conversion.
I'm still favoring the idea of doing a cavalier. No kit, minimum bolt-ons, lots of fabrication, and do your best to keep it legal on the street(or just say to hell with California).

I love Darts, but we're finishing up the Challenger this year and we're also doing the UFC 'Cuda. Too many Dodges.

I think an old '63-64 type Ford Falcon would be cool, those things are pretty small and would be sweet with a built-up 351 in 'em!!! Olds 442 is a good idea, also!!!
