Hey I own a 98 Exploroer Sport 4X4 and i have set the Inertia Switch off a few times. I replaced it with a OEM piece and it still happens when I am wheelin. Please if possible (I seen Ian do it on a show at some Mud bogging race if i remeber right)give me the step by step on how to do it.

Have you asked a tech at a Ford dealership?

I found this:

Over-riding it totally would be just taking out the switch and hardwiring it in without the safety switch.

You might have more luck finding Ian at:

I have spoken with a couple guys at the Ford dealership that I know. They start with the usual that it is not recommended. From what they tell me that a simple toggle switch to shunt around the eretia switch will work. Since this switch is not a high current application then this would be a simple way to fix it. The only thing is to use the same gauge wire as the switch and once the ertia switch is working turn the toggle off.

I am not sure where to hook it up to but when I see the guy next time I will ask. From what he suggested was to not flip it on only if the inertia switch triggers and you cannot get it started again. Then flip it.
